I always say I did things backwards, but really I was just being obedient. At 19, I boarded a plane for the first time in my life and flew to Moscow, Russia where I would serve as a missionary in an orphanage. Little did I know that would lead to ten years of ministry in Russia, followed by shorter trips to Central Asia, Africa, China, other parts of Europe and eventually to the founding of Forbid Them Not Ministries, which helps start, strengthen, and maintain ministries to orphans and fatherless families around the world.

Through the years, seemingly at every turn, my faith has been tested—and my God has always proven Himself strong.

Now, I want to pass the lessons I’ve learned along to you. But how do you pass on that experience?

Long before I started talking about the Core Characteristics of Courageous Faith, they were an integral part of both my walk with Christ and my writing. The following Bible study and devotional journals specifically hone in on the areas of Communion with Christ, our position in Him, and His promises. Without an understanding of these things, we will never walk in courageous faith. With them, life will never be the same!

The ChaiNook

The ChaiNook originated in my book Shadows of Chivalry, in which the key characters (Kelly, Kali, and Matt) discover the need for courageous faith and chivalry in our world today. In the story, the ChaiNook is a simple tea house where friends gather.
